Spike Tips : Soap & Shaving Cream
"All I do is take a chunk of soap and make it a little softer with my
hands and rub it into my hair, the grab a chunk of hair and roll it into a big spike, repeat all over my head and it will stay, not the fastest to do but not the slowest, the only problem is that it foams a bit when it gets wet from rain and such." - Acidic, Apr 17 2001

I've found that, if you have trouble keeping your spikes up, that
vaseline works really well. Back in the Seventies, when the Punk look was just
being born, it was one of the first methods used to get that wildly electric
spiked look (i.e. early John and Sid), and it won't harm your hair. To wash it
out, put on the shampoo while your hair is still dry- otherwise it will mix with
the water and be repelled by the petroleum jelly, and thus really hard to wash
out. So work up a good lather while dry, and then rinse, follow with another
little shampoo and some conditioner. If anyone's ever used pomade, it's pretty
much the same routine.Spike Daft
I am a Johnny Rotten impersonator and fanatic... the guy that said
the things about the shaving cream is right, it works excellent to reproduce the
Johnny or Sid look.Johnny
For the early rotten or sid look: Don't use glue like these other idiots are tellig you unless you want to be a future member for the hair club for men, that shit will pull your hair out!! You use shaving cream, Barbosol is the best to get that dry spikey look! - Sod
I am about to try it, but I heard that any kind of shaving cream will
spike hair really well, if anyone has ANY cool spike tips send them my way at
