"To make really good and strong liberties, I use shaving cream and pomade. With shaving cream what you do is shoot a big wad into your hair, mash it in till your hair is gray in color, wipe any additional cream off, (anything thats still in foam form). After doing that, just take chunks of hair, twist and there you go. With pomade, I suggest using Royal Crown brand pomade, it can be purchased at beauty shops, I bought mine at K-Mart. It comes in a red can with a cheap metal cap. Just take bits of pomade between your fingers, and work into individual chunks of hair, just twist, and hair should stay very well, if necessary, add more to the tips for a better hold. Both methods are extremely cheap, and must be done with dry hair. I've never tried shaving gel, so there's something for you to experiment with. Also, if you can't find pomade, jsut add some olive oil or something of the sort to petroleum jelly. First of all you have to dry it to where you can barely feel the dampness. Second you gotta figure out the right amount of jell or whatever disgusting substance you use to keep it stiff because if you use to much it will be to heavy and it will fall down. Third make sure you have it cut right because if its tooooo shaggy it wont dry right. Fourth form it and shape it until you get it like you want it. Wash or wet whole head, then hold your head down so your hair falls down with gravity. Blow dry it this way, then take any kind of gel, spread it thickly on both palms and "pet" your hair so you only get the tops of it. Keep doing and add more gel like this. (remember to keep head down whole time.) use consort hair spray and spray top of head. Use blow dryer to shape strands. This should give you thick spikes since your not using a brush or anything.

Or wash wet hair, keep head down and blow dry partially and take hair spray and spray entire head and again pet your hair but do it lightly. You get a look simalar to Spider from Powerman 5000 if your hair is long enough.

NOTE--you have to have fairly long hair to do these at least 2 inches for best results. - Jason

This is for girls who want short punky hair. If you are going from long to short it is the best thing you can ever do because short hair rocks and you can do so much cool shit with it. It doesn't matter the exact cut you get because you can f*ck it up so much with products that it all looks the same. Once you have rotten short hair dye it. I don't like fudge colours cause I can never get them to stay, so I like to dye my hair with red or grey or whatever I can at the grocery store. For styling I blow dry hair with my head hanging down so I get hair that stands straight up, then I use AEROSOL hair spray. It is improtant to use aerosol, because the pumps suck. Right, my hair's 4 inch long and shaved back and sides number 1 and then on top i do 3 rows of spikes. How i do it is i was my hair loads, then dry it completly and then grab some hair that i want to spike and spray it loads with just some normal firm hairspray stuff and absolutely saturate it, and then blo dry it at the base and let that dry and then work my way up the spike, and do this for all teh spikes.
