The Rat's Whiskers
Weird Sandwhiches

Updated Oct 4, 2001

I've always liked weird sandwhiches. Maybe it stems from elementary school, when I had perfectly normal p.b. and jam sandwhiches. Well, they sounded normal but they didn't look it. The jam was the most gory but delicious strawberry with big chunks of berry and way too much sugar. I used to make them talk by opening them and have them say, "Bleah, I've been in a horrible accident!". Weird sandwhiches are powerful things on the playground.

Breakfast Club It's been suggested more than once that I remind some people of Ally Sheedy in The Breakfast Club. My M & M sandwhich was to blame...I think. Sheedy's character "Allison" in The Breakfast Club made a sandwhich of Cap'n Crunch and Pixy Sticks. Sounds good to me. Now on to my personal sandwhich recipes...

Breakfast Sandwhich

Take couple pieces of toast or bread. Butter them. Slather each one with orange or ginger marmalade. Sprinkle cornflakes on top of that.. Then lay some chopped banana circles on other buttered bread. Slam the two sides shut and eat it.

M & M Sandwhich

Take a couple pieces of bread. Over butter them with REAL butter, not that cruddy margarine junk. Stick a layer of M & M's to one over-buttered side of bread. They should stick. Now put the other bread on top. Get something heavy like a hammer or rock. Lay a piece of wax paper over the sandwhich. Now bash at the sandwhich and break the M & M's. Try not to totally destroy sandwhich. If you're the picky type, you can smash the M&M's before you put them on the bread and bypass the fun of beating up the sandwhich.

Maple Bean Toast Crunch

Get two pieces of toast. Put a layer of any quality tinned beans&sauce (Heinz Beans in Tomato Sauce, Campbell's Pork and Beans, etc.) Get some crunchy maple flavoured cereal (I prefer Maple Frosted Wheaties). Sprinkle a good, thick layer of that over the beans. Now get some maple syrup and dribble that on top of it all. Place the other toast on top and heat in microwave. One of my personal favourites.

Lucky Charmed Tahini Treat Sandwhich

Take some bread. Spread tahini on one, butter on the other. Press little Lucky Charms cereal bits into the tahini. Sprinkle coconut on the buttered side. Press em together and voila! Leprechauns in Lebanon.

Skittleberry Cheesecake

Take a croissant or bagel and spread each side with creamcheese. Now press Wildberry Skittles into one of the creamcheese covered sides. Put the two pieces together for a light, refreshing snack.

Honey Ham and Marshmallow Sandwhich

Get some honey ham from a deli or (better yet) get some of the dry roasted honey/brownsugar ham you eat at Thanksgiving and put a few slices down on a slice of buttered brown bread. Carefully arrange the mini-marshmallows on the other piece of buttered brown bread and make sure to press each marshmallow firmly onto the bread so they stick onto the butter. Place the marshmallow-bread on top of the ham-bread and toast it in a toaster oven or on a cookie sheet in your oven until the marshmallows are nicely toasted golden brown. Don't microwave it; the marshmallows will not toast properly and the ham will get too hot and sputter. Let sandwhich cool a bit before eating, as molten marshmallows may burn your mouth.
